How to choose a best GM Tech 2 diagnostic scanner with my Saab?

Question 1: I am considering to buy a Diagnostic Scan Tool GM Tech 2 diagnostic scanner for use with my Saab. Which one of the ones has the best quality and is equipped with the latest software/hardware? Do you also sell USB port converter for the Tech 2?.
Answer 1: 4 versions of TECH2 are available, including: SP23-B3, SP23-B, SP23-C and SP23-1.
The same: they all have the same functions.

The differences:
SP23-B is the best quality Tech2 with Black Carry box, best quality more stable
SP23-B3 is the SP23-B best quality tech2 with carton box, also has the best quality

SP23-1 is the best price one, it is with carton box, will help you save much more money.

In conclusion:
If you wanna best quality and more professional, please can choose SP23-B ,because it has a black carry box.

If you wanna a good quality and also cheaper, please choose SP23-1
The SAAB vehicle you can choose SAAB English card, it is the latest version.
The USB port converter for GM tech2 ? we are not available.

Corvette C5 F55 disable and DBS reflash with GM Tech2 scan tool

So here I would like to share my experience disabling F55 and reflashing DBS using GM Tech 2 Scan Tool. I have a 2005 c5 F55 with heads, cam, injectors, etc. tuned with HP tuners. I did some search about having the DBS reflash and F55 disable done and I read in a couple blogs and threads that people are unsure whether the DBS reflash or any other BCM changes will affect custom ECU tunes. I had the tech do these two changes to the BCM and checked the car after each.

Disclaimer: Please strictly follow the steps in case anything goes wrong. The F55 disabling and DBS reflashing are on your own risk.
First I had the tech do the DBS reflash for me in about 10 min. My tune was NOT affected and the car started and ran normally.
I then had him disable the F55 suspension. Again, my tune was NOT affected and the car started and ran normally.

It is also worth noting that HP Tuners can NOT make changes to the BCM.

If you are looking to disable your F55 using the OBD2 Tools TECH 2 scanner:
1.Hook up Tech 2, turn car ON, make sure module in the rear is PLUGGED IN. Do Not unplug the rear module.
2.Go to diagnostics -- Body --- BCM --- BCM Special functions -- BCM Setup.
3.Delete the F45 option ( F55 did not appear on the menu screen on the Tech 2, use F45)
4.Save new configuration.
5.Do not turn car off, do not remove Tech 2, go to the module in the rear of the car, unplug the grey connector( the widest one) leave the center plug in and the smaller black plug in.
6.Turn off car leave Tech 2 plugged in.
7.Remove remaining plugs from module in the rear of car.
8.Turn car on to verify the " Max speed 80 mph" is gone.
9.Unplug Tech 2 and put tools away.
Then you have to follow the bouncing ball of checking off RPO Codes. When you get to F55 set it to disabled.

Tech2 program a module: pass-through or go-between method?

For users with GM Tech2 scan tools:

If you’re trying to program a module, there are two methods. One is pass-through and the other is using the Tech 2 as a go-between.
In detail… look here:
The pass-through is to use with a laptop in the vehicle and it just uses the Tech 2 as the connection between. This is the fastest and easiest way to do it.
That is, the data are directly downloaded from the PC to the ECU in the vehicle.
Although the tech 2 programmer is still necessary in the mode, the data entry and the download control is done directly at the pc. Altogether, the method is faster, and it is recommended when a pc with TIS2000 software is within 3m of a vehicle.

    1.Connect Tech 2 to the vehicle.
    2.Connect Tech 2 to the PC switch on Tech 2.
    3.Start TIS 2000 on the PC.
    4.Select the icon ‘Service Programming System’ (Fig. 1) on the TIS2000 start page.
    5.Start TIS 2000 on the PC.
    6.On the screen ‘Select Diagnostic Tool and Programming Process’ (See picture below) make a selection for


Pass-Thru mode
The reprogramming of an ECU that was not exchanged or the replacement/programming of a new ECU the ECU location.

The go-between method is for when you can’t bring the computer into the vehicle and uses the gm GM Tech2 Scanner as a go-between. You connect the Automotive Diagnostic Scanner Tech 2 to the vehicle and download the module information that you want to program. Then you disconnect, run to the computer running Tis2000, connect it to the computer and download the programming information for that module, disconnect again and run back to the vehicle, connect it and it automatically programs the module. It can take a long time depending on the module (PCM is the longest).

GM MDI troubleshoot Chevrolet Cruze Engine Fault

GM MDI Multiple Diagnostic Tool is an interface between the vehicle DLC and a PC (by wired USB, wired Ethernet, wireless Ethernet ) and TIS2web.
